Joint Pain Advice Training

About this event

About this Event

Joint Pain Advice (JPA) training is provided by the Health Innovation Network (HIN). The training is for professionals to enable them to provide the Joint Pain Advice model of care.

Joint Pain Advice is a model of care which can be offered to individuals experiencing knee and/or hip osteoarthritis and/or chronic low back pain to support them to understand more about their condition and the ways it can be self-managed.

The Joint Pain Advice approach is based on guidelines for osteoarthritis and chronic low back pain therefore these are the conditions discussed in this training and for which the Joint Pain Advice information and support is intended for.

Who is the training for?

The training is suitable for both healthcare and non-healthcare professionals to enable them to offer the Joint Pain Advice approach alongside their current roles.

The training provides the skills and information required to offer the Joint Pain Advice intervention, a series of collaborative appointments providing supported self-management.

The training is also open to individuals who are not able to provide structured supported self-management but would like to improve their knowledge, skills and awareness about knee and hip osteoarthritis and chronic low back pain to support individuals they work with on a more opportunistic basis and/or as a signposting role.

However, it is important to note, this course is not suitable as a general information session.
