Join us at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge on the evening of Friday 17th November for a talk from lawyer & historian, Jonathan Sumption on ‘The Black Prince: The King Who Never Reigned’, followed by a delicious 3-course dinner to raise funds for Canterbury Cathedral .

After reading history at Magdalen College, Oxford, and serving for four years as a history Fellow of the College, Lord Sumption was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1975 and took Silk in 1986. His practice covered all aspects of Commercial, EU and Competition, Public and Constitutional Law. Alongside his career as lawyer and a Supreme Court judge, his most noted publications are his series on The Hundred Years’ War, currently in four volumes (five are planned).
