Event description

Description

Following on from the author’s fascinating talk at Halton Lea Library earlier this year, David Hewitt is returning to Halton Libraries to talk, once again, about his thought-provoking book. David’s book is the ‘secret history’ of Joseph Blackburn, a man who didn’t want to go to war – but was forced to by a Westminster tribunal and who died on the Western Front. Set in Thornton Cleveleys, this compelling read explores the moral and legal complexities of Joseph’s story. Using the original source material of newspaper articles and legal records, David has written a thrilling and thought provoking account of Joseph’s forgotten story.

Copies of Joseph, 1917 will be available to purchase on the evening.
