Creating a Memory Journal
Working in any little A6 notebook or journal insert that you should choose to bring along, this workshop focuses on setting up and decorating a personal Memory Journal.
This will become an extra special little journal of your precious memories; subject suggestions include special days, special moments, shared moments with loved ones, birthdays... ideally any moments where you are likely to have taken photos, as these will form the basis for the whole journal.
Suzanna will be creating a little collection of her oldest childhood memories and finding ways to trigger relevant memories using childhood photos, visual cues and words.
So please make sure to bring along some of your relevant photos, no matter how precious. They will not be damaged in any way during the morning, as you will just be taking photocopies of them and then experimenting with several different ways to add/transfer the copies to the pages, (ideally, bring at least 6-8 photos with you, to best fill out your pages)
During the session, you will also be experimenting with various ways to tell the story of each moment using different styles of written and printed words, as well as playing with colour and B&W images to enhance definition and impact.
There will also be a pile of books from the library shelves (which Suzanna will select beforehand) that contain images that will hopefully inspire our creativity and ideas even further...
As always, a little ephemera pack will be provided on the day, to get your new project up and running. If you don't have a suitable notebook, you are welcome to purchase a Wild Scribe mini journal insert from Suzanna on the day for an additional cash payment of £5.
At the end of the session you will take away an Information sheet and the remaining contents of your ephemera pack, plus your little decorated journal, prepped and ready to add your future findings, memories and ephemera at home.
