Community Corner is a service run by the NHS aiming to combat social isolation and help people to live well in their communities. Every Thursday at Violet Melchett we run activities to promote health and wellbeing.
Join us on the 10th July from 10:30 - 12:30pm at the Violet Melchett Health and Wellbeing Hub for a journalling session led by our team.
In this class, you'll learn how to use journaling as a powerful tool for setting clear goals and reflecting on your day-to-day life. Together we will look at some famous examples of journals and diaries and talk about various strategies for documenting life through writing and art. We will work through a couple of exercises designed to get us into the flow of writing, before embarking on a slightly longer quiet journalling session. Scrap paper will be provided on the day, but please feel free to bring your own journal or diary to write in.
*Please note this is an event to promote wellness and is not a professional writing class. It is instead space without judgement to enjoy creating in a relaxed environment.*
Materials and refreshments will be provided, so you just need to bring some creativity! This is a great opportunity to get out and about, meet people, have a chat and learn some journaling techniques! Taking some time for quiet reflection is great for relaxation and wellbeing, and we hope that you will be inspired to take what you have learned and keep journaling at home.
If you have any questions about the event please email nhsnwl.vmcommunitycorner@nhs.net and we would be happy to give more information.
