‘Journey Ahead’ Pre-bereavement support for HCA’s

About the Course
An introductory one day pre bereavement support study day for frontline workers designed to enable you to understand the effects of loss & grief on adults approaching end of life.
What will I learn?
The course will provide an opportunity for you to:
- Understand current theories around loss and grief at end of life
- Have a general awareness of your own feelings towards grief, loss and death and consider how these can inform your practice
- Practice the skills required to support adults who are experiencing loss and grief
Who is it for?
Health care assistants, social care & domiciliary carers including those working in care homes, hospitals, hospices or in the community who are involved in supporting people with terminal illnesses.
What will the course look like?
This training, which is practitioner-led, includes interactive group discussions, helpful scenarios and case studies.
Participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

Registration commences 15 minutes prior to any of our events, in order to facilitate a prompt start. If for any reason you are delayed, please call us on 01423 879687 with an approximate time of arrival.
All food served is freshly prepared on the premises. Kindly advise us in advance of the day of any special dietary requirements.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The nearest train station is Hornbeam Park which is on the main Leeds to York line. The station is a 10 minute walk from the hospice and offers easy access. Alternatively, should you choose to drive there is ample car parking available at the Hospice. See hospice web site for directions.

What's the refund policy?
Your place at the event will be confirmed following receipt of your booking and fee. If a delegate cancels attendance at a study session, a refund of 80% of the invoice value will be made provided a minimum of 30 days prior notice is given. If a delegate cancels attendance at a session, a refund of 50% of the invoice value will be made, provided a between 14-29 days prior notice is given. If a delegate cancels attendance at a study session with less than 14 days notice, no refund will be given and the delegate will remain liable for the full value of the course. If a delegate fails to attend a study session and no written notice of cancellation has been provided, the delegate will remain liable for the full value of the course
