The Jersey Sport Foundation Level 1 Nutrition workshop is all about promoting positive lifestyle and healthy eating behaviours for young athletes. It forms the first stage of a three part nutrition suite that athletes on our programmes go through. Although designed for young athletes, it has proven very popular with all.
In a world of convenience and junk food marketing, we aim to educate our athletes, their parents and coaches to start with healthy, whole and unprocessed eating through learning to become a healthy food detector and avoid gimmicks through the development of positive healthy lifestyle behaviours to facilitate good nutrition. All of our workshops are based of the ‘three principles’; keep it simple, ensure it is scientifically backed, and make it practical.
Of particular interest is education around junk food advertising, whole foods, hidden sugar/chemicals and food labelling.
