About this event

Explore the hidden and surprising history of contested public sculptures in the centre of Westminster, and judge for yourself on each case.

On this tour, we will encounter 10 different Westminster statues, each of which will be subjected to a defence and a prosecution, based on an astonishing variety of accusations, ranging from religious, political, aesthetic, and placement reasons.

In each case, you the jury will vote to decide whether the statue should be damned or praised.

This tour will be jointly led by London guides and London Historians members David Harry and Frank Molloy.

We meet outside the Conrad Hotel opposite St James's Park tube station. The tour ends by the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square.
