FOGL are excited to be welcoming author Julia Jarman to Goring. She will be telling us the story of how she has made the transition from prolific Children’s author to the author of successful women’s fiction with her series The Widows Wine Club.Julia has written more than a hundred children’s books from picture books to young adults stories. One of her first picture books inspired by the birth of her first grandchild The Big Red Bath was made into a successful stage show and three of her novels have been nominated for the Carnegie Medal. In addition she has been shortlisted for several other prizes for literatureThe Widows Wine club was her first foray into adult literature and has been so successful that she is currently writing the fourth in the series while the third is out now, Widows waive the Rules.The books are fun light reads ideal to enjoy with a cuppa or glass of wine but look deeper and some serious issues are tackled too.
