Event description

Description

NEW ROUTE FOR 2019! Discover the UK’s first natural UNESCO World Heritage Site on a challenging 13 or 26 mile trek along Dorset’s stunning coastline.

The 26 mile route begins in the picturesque village of Osmington, passing Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, two of the Jurassic Coast’s most iconic landmarks. Those taking on the 13 mile route will join at Kimmeridge, with some challenging climbs that will be rewarded with spectacular scenery. The trek finishes at Acton Field Campsite, with amazing views over Swanage Bay, Purbeck Hills and the Isle of Wight. Celebrate your achievement by joining us for a complementary hog roast and glass of Prosecco, which will be waiting for you at the finish line!

Park, ride and trek! You can leave your car at the finish, ready for your return and our shuttlebus service will take you to the start of each route. Transfers cost £5 per person and need to be booked in advance.

Your entry includes:

  • Dedicated one-to-one support from a member of the Julia’s House challenge event team
  • Qualified guides
  • Route map
  • Qualified first aid and medical support
  • Refuel stops with water and snacks
  • Support vehicles
  • Free hog roast and glass of prosecco at the finish
  • A medal for all finishers
  • Fundraising support, ideas and tips
  • Julia’s House t-shirt
  • An invitation to the hospice to find out more about how you are supporting families.
  • Regular communications
  • Huge cheers and support on the day!

Registration fees

13 miles £25

26 miles £30

Your registration fee helps to cover towards the costs of organising the event but it’s the money you raise that helps us to pay for the care and comfort of a local child and their family.

We would love all our trekkers to try and raise a minimum of £200. This would pay for seven hours of care for a poorly child, and respite for an exhausted mum or dad.

The route

The Jurassic Coast Trek has two routes. The mighty 13 mile trek and mammoth 26 mile trek, both finishing at Acton Field Campsite near Swanage.

The Jurassic Coast is well known for its spectacular views and challenging hills. The route will take in a variety of terrain with some very steep uphill and downhill sections but you will be rewarded with breath-taking views.
