About this Event

Jum'a prayers at Cambridge Central Mosque have now resumed since Friday 10th July. Due to strict restrictions regarding COVID-19, the Mosque's capacity will be very limited, so first priority will be given to Cambridge residents only.

To cater for a large number of worshippers, there will be TWO Jum'a prayers.

Dates will be published every week and ticket bookings will be made on a first-come-first-served basis.

Timings

Mosque open from 12:30pm

1st Jum’a: 12:30pm – 13:30pm, Khutba 13:10pm

2nd Jum’a: 14:15pm – 15:10pm, Khutba 14:45pm

YOU MUST ALLOW FOR AT LEAST 1 HOUR AND 30 MINUTES TO ATTEND THE JUM'A PRAYER THIS INCLUDES QUEUING AND EXITING PROCEDURE

From 8th August 2020, it will be required by law for worshippers who attend Cambridge Central Mosque (CCM) to wear a face covering at all times when indoors, this includes inside the prayer hall. If you arrive without a face covering you will not be able to enter the mosque, unless you are exempt from wearing a face covering. CCM will have masks available for you to purchase for a small fee, all proceeds of which will go to the mosque directly.

KEY DETAILS:

  • You must bring an electronic or printed copy of your booking to enter the Mosque to present on arrival.
  • Only individual bookings are accepted. Family or group bookings are not allowed.
  • Please allow for at least 1 hour and 30 minutes to attend the Jum'a prayer. This includes queuing time, the Khutba, the prayer, and the exiting procedure.
  • You must bring your own prayer mat and shoe bag.*
  • You must wear a face covering inside the mosque at all times, including the prayer hall, unless you are exempt in line with government guidelines.
  • Before entering the Mosque, please use the hand sanitising stations provided.
  • On arrival, a staff member or volunteer will check your temperature. If you have a high temperature, unfortunately you will be asked to go home.
  • Children under 14 are not permitted.
  • Those who are over the age of 70 or clinically vulnerable with underlying health conditions are strongly encouraged to pray at home.
  • Please kindly follow instructions from staff and volunteers at all times, and use the correct entrances/exits as indicated by following the one-way system.
  • Between the two Adhans you may pray any Sunnah prayers, but not afterward.
  • You may wish to bring your own Qur'an (hardcopy or digital), as there will be no access to the Mosque Qur'ans.
  • To exit the mosque safely and to maintain social distancing, after the Jum'a prayer you must remain seated until it is your turn to leave the Mosque.
  • Worshippers will exit one row at a time, under the direction of trained staff and volunteers.

*If you forget these items you may purchase a "prayer pack" for a small fee. This includes a shoe bag, prayer mat & face mask. All proceeds go to the mosque.
