JumpStars: disability-friendly trampolining session
Tue, April 18, 2017, 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM BST
This is a discounted monthly trampolining session for children and young people with additional needs and their siblings and parents. You must be a member of Sheffield Parent Carer Forum to be eligible to attend. Membership is free and you can register here.
Cost: Sessions must be pre-booked and pre-paid. The cost is £4 for anyone (child or adult) who wants to enter the jump area – that’s less than half the normal price! You will also need to buy Jump Inc. grip socks at a price of £1.50 per pair, which you'll be able to use again at future sessions. Socks from other trampoline parks can be traded in. There is no charge for parents who just want to sit in the café area and watch their children on the trampolines. Hot and cold food will be available to purchase. No food or drink must be taken into the venue.
Directions: The Jump Inc. trampoline park is on Vulcan Road, Sheffield S9 1EW. That's just before the main entrance to the Meadowhall car park, behind the Sainsbury's petrol station and opposite Next at Home. See map There is plenty of onsite parking available.
Timetable: Please arrive at Jump Inc. around 5.40pm. Go straight into the venue - you do not need to wait in Reception. Our volunteers will sign you in and you will be able to purchase Jump Inc. socks if you haven't got them already.
You will then be asked to take your children to the safety briefing area, where you will watch a short safety video (approx. 1 minute). Once the video has been watched, jumpers will get their hand stamped and are free to enter the jump area. Please note that due to a public session running before you will not be able to enter the jump area until precisely 6pm.
Children will be given a 5-minute warning at 6.55pm. Please collect them promptly from the jump area at 7pm as there will be another public session starting straight after.
Accessibility: There will be no flashing lights and the music will be turned off. There is wheelchair access up to the jump area, but no hoist to transfer from a wheelchair to the trampolines. Most trampolines are at floor level. The parkour area has several enclosed individual trampolines which are private and set slightly away from the main area. There is a disabled toilet, but it does not have a changing bench. There are baby changing facilities in the men's and ladies' toilets.
Activities: To ensure the safety of participants, some activities (such as the Jump Tower) will not be available during this session.
Parents: Parents are welcome to book a session to enjoy the fun with their children (please note that there is a weight restriction of 18 stone), or you can sit in the cafe which has full views over the jump area; staff will be on hand to assist your children. We do insist that you supervise your children at all times to ensure that they are adhering to the safety rules.
Young children: All children aged under the age of 6 must be accompanied by a participating adult. For some of the activities, children must be at least 1.25m tall.
Safety: Please read the safety instructions on the Jump Inc. website before attending our sessions.
