Event description
Focus: Farhad Dalal (2015) ‘Prejudice as Ideology: The Creation of “Us” and “Them” Groups in Society (and Psychoanalysis).

About this event

The antiracist book club for psychologists is a book club primarily focused on reading and discussing literature that raises the consciousness and increases the cross-racial skills of clinical, counselling, education and forensic psychologists. This group is a place for personal and professional explorations and by sharing our reactions to the literature, our individual perspectives and experiences we use each other to learn and grow.

This is a reflective practice group that offers a space for book club members, with our book of the month as a reference, to think about our personal and professional lives and how Antiracism can be embodied as individuals, as a community and in our systems and organisations.

For May and June. 2021the bookclub will be reading works by Farhad Dalal .

In this June session will be reflecting on Dalal’s 2015 paper ‘Prejudice as Ideology: The Creation of “Us” and “Them” Groups in Society (and Psychoanalysis).’

The Bookclub is not run for profit, however a donation to the zoom sessions is requested to contribute to administration costs.
