Description

UNLESS YOU HAVE A CODE - THIS EVENT IS EXCLUSIVE TO CULTURE REPUBLIC PARTNERS.

What is branding, exactly? Is it a product? Is it a logo or a colour palette? Is it a website or a Facebook page, or the way a company communicates with its customers and the world? The power of brand is all around us, but ask someone to define it and you’ll get a list of answers as long as your arm.

If you’ve ever struggled to define your brand, this First Wednesday is for you. Our speakers, Steven Hadden, Design Director at brand led digital creative agency MadeBrave, and Keenan Erwin, Social Media Manager at MadeBrave, will show you you’re not alone and the truth is — no one knows your brand better than you do—it’s just a matter of asking the right questions.

When it comes right down to it, brands are like people. Each brand has its own unique personality, ambitions, and ideas. If you can communicate yours clearly and consistently, customers begin to look beyond price and product and connect with your business on a personal level. That’s the power of brand.

You will learn:

  • Starting with your brand “Why?”
  • What branding is (and what it’s not)
  • How to find your brand’s tone of voice, personality, visual style and culture
  • How to communicate your brand effectively in the digital space
  • Identify some soft metrics to help you measure awareness around your brand

SPEAKERS:

Steven Hadden, Design Director at MadeBrave

Steven has worked for over 15 years in the creative industry and is experienced in all aspects of branding and design. He started out in the world of advertising, later joining the marketing team at Glasgow Science Centre. Here, his focus moved to building a brand from the inside out – developing a visual style and brand guidelines, while finding ways to establish consistency and buy-in among his peers. Having caught the branding bug, he moved to MadeBrave to help other companies achieve the same.

A brand expert and head of the MadeBrave creative team, Steven brings an understanding of both creating a brand and rolling it out within an organisation. A talented speaker and facilitator, Steven has a knack for helping businesses get to the heart of what makes them tick and uses this insight to inform an effective brand-led approach to communications.
Keenan Erwin, Social Media Manager at MadeBrave

With over 5 years in social media marketing, Keenan has extensive experience delivering social media and marketing strategies for clients across a variety of industries. Keenan found his start as a freelance social media consultant for retail clients in the US, where he built social media teams and transformed once stagnant audiences into thriving and engaged communities. He even received an award for his efforts from Retail Touchpoints at an awards ceremony in New York City.

A social media expert and content creator, Keenan understands the nuanced differences between all major social media channels and how to leverage them. Keenan has the ability to explain in simple terms the value and potential behind social media, how to get results based on a brand’s unique business objectives, and how to communicate a brand effectively through all digital channels.

ABOUT FIRST WEDNESDAYS

Some of the most stimulating sessions take place when there’s the opportunity to step away from the pressure of a busy job, get together with colleagues and share learning.

That’s why we host ‘First Wednesdays’ – a series of topical, bite-sized information sessions taking place on the first Wednesday of each month.

They are an open invitation each month for our Partners and industry colleagues to regularly drop in our offices to keep up to date with ideas and examples of useful practice we’ve gathered from across the country.

It might be as simple as hearing how other people have successfully tackled the same challenges you face building profitable customer relationships and wider public engagement or learning about the raft of new tools or approaches emerging daily.

Our goal is to inspire fresh thinking, expand current networks and focus on the Most Important Thing … to build new audiences and greater engagement.

If you can’t join us in person, why not sign up for a periscope registration. You will be able to tune in remotely so you can still hear from our speakers from wherever you are!
