Crazy ideas for React Native

In the early days, I saw React Native as a place where we could try out crazy ideas.
Using React to render iOS native elements, check.Running the entire JavaScript code outside of the main thread, check.Running js inside of Chrome and communicate via websocket with the app to get the Chrome Dev Tools, check.Using a lot of the codebase used to write iOS app for Android, check.

Making components less opaque 

React components are basically just functions, if you squint a little, so why can't we have a type signature for them and, even better, use it at run-time. Or can we? I will look at some options and the possibilities they open for developer tools, testing and even some advanced workflows.
