About this event
The three day watersports experience is for children aged 8 - 15 Years
You do not have to be a member of BCYC
Session is 10:00 - 15:30 Each Day
Parents do not need to stay on site, but must be contactable and available to come to the club if required.
Sailing Taster
Participants will assist with rigging and launching, gain a basic understanding of how a sail works, and get practice of steering and handling a boat. For those with more experience opportunity to sail single handed or to helm with less expereinced crew. Sailing forms the backbone for the three day session and is available over the largest range of wind conditions.
Windsurfing Taster
Participants will gain a basic understanding of windsurfing, practice a land drill for starting and turning on a windsurfer and then go on the water to put practice into theory. Never a dry moment on the water.
Stand Up Paddleboard Taster
Fastest growing watersport in the world comes to Cheddar reservoir, and participants will get the opportunity to learn new skills, from basic turns to race and endurance techniques. Great fun and never a dull moment on the water with lots of games and fun.
What Do I Need to Go on the water?
The courses are run by qualified instructors and provides all equipment that you will need, wetsuits, buoyancy aids and spray jacket.
You will need to provide shoes that can get wet (training shoes or pumps will do) and a towel. The club has lockable changing rooms and hot showers. Teas an coffees and be purchased at the club, but you must bring your own lunch. Please remember - Participants need to bring a packed lunch. There is no food provided by the club or instructors.

Parents are encouraged to stay on site. The club has internet access, a TV and lounge area for those who would rather work online or take it easy with a coffee and a good book.
The day runs from 10:00 to 16:00
