Description
Brighter Sound presents Junior Jam – an exciting Saturday morning music group for children aged four to eight.
Junior Jam gives children the chance to develop musical skills in a fun, friendly and accessible way. Sessions last 50 minutes and take place once a month at Band on the Wall, with musical games and activities, including time to experiment, play with instruments and socialise.
Junior Jam is led by Kabantu (previously Project Jam Sandwich), a world-folk-fusion quintet of award-winning musicians known for concocting captivating, exhilarating improvisations, infectious rhythms and beautiful melodies from around the globe.
All instruments are provided.
Sat 4 Feb - Asian Music and Taiko Drumming
Taiko drumming is a Japanese percussion technique which involves repetitive patterns. This February we will look at how phrases are built and come up with some original patterns to play as a group.
Sat 4 Mar - Drawing Music
From wiggly lines and cartoons, to writing song lyrics, this month is about using your imagination and getting creative with music!
Sat 1 Apr — Indian Music & Improvisation
Exploring the sounds of India, this session offers an introduction to musical techniques including; drones, ornamentation and fun, friendly improvisation.

Session dates: Saturdays: 4 Feb, 4 Mar, 1 Apr
Time: 10-10.50am and 11-11.50am
Venue: Band on the Wall (main venue)
