As part of the Extinction and Recovery online course, we are organising a free guided walk of the Jurassic coastline near Ericeira with Guardians Worldwide Portugal
We will see fossilised trees, fossilised burned wood, fossil eggs, dinosaur bones and dinosaur footprints. The site, which has yielded rare remains of Stegosaurus and Ankylosaurus, is a member of Lourinha Formation and part of Geoparque Oeste, a UNESCO Global Geopark territory.
Meeting Place: Calada Beach Surf Club
Time: 10:00 am Saturday December 6th, 2025
Duration of tour: 3 hours + lunch at the beach club (each participants pays for their own lunch if they wish to stay for lunch)
Cost: free (very limited availability so book early to avoid missing out)
What you need: warm clothes, good walking shoes
