There’s a multitude of online experts telling us how to live healthier lives, grow in confidence or run a successful business. What’s less common is to meet people who’ve acquired some wisdom, applied it and enjoyed some success.
That’s what we explore in this new group in Buxton. It’s your opportunity to share ‘Just One Thing’ (JOT) that’s helped you and, in turn, learn from others.
In a way this is a storytelling group because change lies at the heart of any story. We’d love to know what you changed for the better (in work or outside) and how it’s improved things for you. Perhaps you:
- Got fitter (exercise, sleep, diet)
- Changed your routines (less social media)
- Learned to listen (improved relationships)
- Joined a club (more confidence)
And if you can share the source of your inspiration (a book, video, article or friend) that adds extra value.
- Arrive 6.30pm - take a seat
- Chat with others over a drink
- Welcome from Andrew, brief introductions
- Start sharing stories and tips
- Finish around 8.30pm.
PLEASE NOTE:
It is entirely up to participants what they share at these events, but we ask everyone to respect the confidentiality of people’s identity and circumstances.
A complimentary drink is included in your fee.
A message from your host Andrew Thorp:
I learned that it’s possible to reinvent yourself in mid-life. After 22 years in the golf & leisure industry, I changed direction around 2008 to become a speaker and trainer in the business world, specialising in communication skills and storytelling.
I still play golf to a reasonable standard (never as good as my pro brother) but my passion (and profession) is to create a real connection between people through conversation.
Although based in Buxton, I work far and wide with clients like PwC, The European Parliament, ING, plus a range of UK SMEs and professionals.
