Event description

Description

A bold fusion of contemporary dance and physical theatre, Infusion takes a tour-de-force look at the backwards puzzle pieces of the life of a prostitute. Based on survivor stories and documentation, Infusion tackles human trafficking for sexual exploitation, and finds a surprise culprit. Hard-edged, fast-paced and soulful, this wordless epic exposes the powers and players of one of the world’s fastest growing criminal trades: sex.

Developed with the support of Cambridge Centre of Applied Research in Human Trafficking (CCARHT)

Infusion Physical Theatre launches its anti-human trafficking project right in the heart of Cambridge. With a post-show discussion panel and Q&A, featuring the show’s creator and the director of CCARHT, the evening promises to communicate the experience, not just the knowledge, of human trafficking.

This event is the spearhead of the Just Sex program for sixth forms. Taking the show to colleges—with companion workshops, and directed discussion groups—Infusion gives students a chance to interact with the topics of supply and demand, poverty and consumerism, and the effects of human trafficking on society and social media. These sessions will equip the minds and movers of tomorrow with a better understand of this complex issue, and help build a world where individuals aren't exploited for just sex.

What does it take to make this show happen?

We are going into our second development phase for choreography, January 22nd-26th, 2018. We're raising funds for dancers, composer fees, a lighting designer, and videographer, and the event hall hire fees.

With your help we can fund these talented artists for their one-week residency, launching this daring new show to reach the minds and hearts of youth in Sixth form, and upwards to theatre programmers, community leaders, policy makers, law enforcers, to help us raise awareness in the public sector.

*Would you please give towards this project?

What it costs:
