Just Transition Listening Event
Event Information
About this Event
We are living in a unique moment. The pandemic has exposed some of the worst issues affecting our society but has also revealed the potential for change. The Just Transition campaign wants to realise this potential through climate action policies that will make London the first Just Transition city, a city in which the transition to net zero carbon emissions occurs in a way that is equitable and prioritises the needs of the most marginalised.
The Citizens UK Mayoral Assembly will be taking place next year where we will hold the mayoral candidates to account and ask them to pledge to implement Just Transition policy. To prepare for this, we want to hear from King’s staff and students. King’s 4 Change, a community organising student group, will be running a house meeting on the 30th November to discuss what issues like high energy bills, energy inefficient housing and pollution mean to you. The event is officially one hour but it would be great if some could stay for an extra half-hour to continue the discussion!
