KClub Manchester meets regularly and brings together key entrepreneurs giving them the opportunity to meet fellow entrepreneurs and local professionals.
The speakers are:
Jim Davies OBE - Co-founder of DWF
"What makes an entrepreneur?"
Jim will talk about his career working as a lawyer and businessman for over 45years, having been lucky enough to act for and observe some of the most successful business men and women in the UK.
Jim was Managing Partner of law firm DWF LLP which he co-founded in 1977, and which has subsequently grown to be a national practice of 12 offices employing over 2,500 people.
He possesses outstanding business development and management skills and is a Director of a number of private companies and charities including The Liverpool and Merseyside Theatre Trust Limited.
He was awarded an OBE and recognised in the Queen's New Years Honours List 2015 for hos services to charity and the community in Merseyside. He is Deputy Lieutenant of Merseyside and an Honorary Fellow of Liverpool John Moores University.
Mark Berrisford-Smith - Head of Economics at HSBC UK Commercial Banking
"Economic impact on Manchester businesses"
Having studied economics at Sussex and London Universities, Mark is now Head of Economics for HSBC's commercial banking business in the UK. In his role, he advises the bank's business customers on developments in the UK and global economies, and on the performace of regions and key industry sectors.
Mark will give his thoughts on the current economic climate and how the likes of the slow down of the Chinese economy and falling oil prices are likely to impact on businesses here in Manchester and the North West.
He speaks regularly at conferences, seminars and lunches, and when not doing so, his interests and hobbies include hill-walking, cycling, the trials and tribulations of the England cricket team, and fine wines.
