Angie is the Chief Executive of Manchester Central; an award winning, globally renowned venue in the heart of one of the world's most vibrant cities, hosting some of the world's leading conferences, exhibitions and events. She is passionate about ensuring that Manchester has the world's leading conference, exhibition and events venue and continually strives for excellence and five star service in order to achieve this.
With a track record of success in leadership roles across Manchester, including with the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Angie ensures that the excellent team at Manchester Central continue to attract some of the world's leading events to the venue, understanding the immense benefits this brings to Manchester's economy.
Angie will focus on what the 'Northern Powerhouse' is, and what is isn't, how devolution fits in, and what's in it for entrepreneurs and business owners in the North West.
Brian Lewis - ex-owner of Cash Generator
Manchester born and bred, Brian started his working life at 16 as a petrol pump attendant, before running 9 different businesses in a number of sectors including fast food and investment - both property and retail. He established the well-known high street brand of Cash Generator in 1994, with its first store opening in Bolton. When Brian sold his business to a US finance house in 2010, there were 17 company stores and 113 franchise units trading successfully.
Brian is the ex-Chairman of both the British Franchise Association and the British Cheque and Credit Association. He now gives back to the community as a Prince's Trust Mentor in the region, and for the last 20 years has been a student of practical philosophy, leading to him to support St John Primary school in Stockport in 2004.
