About this Event

Colin Mason is an economic geographer and is currently Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow. He previously held a Chair in the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, Strathclyde Business School, University of Strathclyde and before that was at the University of Southampton.

He has degrees from the University of Edinburgh (MA Hons) and University of Manchester (PhD) and has held visiting positions at universities in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Argentina.

His research and teaching focus on entrepreneurship and regional development. His particular interest is on understanding why some places are more entrepreneurial than others and how entrepreneurial activity can be stimulated.

During this K-TALK, Colin will lead a discussion on understanding the process of industrial decline and the impact this has had on towns. We will then move on to interpret this for Kilmarnock and look at future possibilities for reviving and regenerating our town.
