Theme: Finance in Transition: Preparing for LGR and the Future of Local Councils
Thursday 12th September 2025 | Bat and Ball Centre, Sevenoaks | 10:00 start
With Local Government Reorganisation on the horizon and the pace of change accelerating, Town and Parish Councils need to be financially prepared, adaptable, and forward-thinking. The KALC Finance Conference 2025 will explore how councils can plan effectively, and embrace new ways of working in a shifting landscape.
On top of the usual core Budget Setting and the Precept hour long session, this year we will also be dedicating a session assets through LGR, Community Right to Bid and Community Right to Challenge powers led by Roger Taylor. Delegates will also hear about the latest on the constraints on Section 151 Officers regarding asset transfers in Kent, and gain insight into the role of the Shadow Cabinet in the asset transfer process.
This is a day to learn from sector specialists, explore best practice, and share real-life experiences from councils who have navigated change successfully.
Who should attend:
Clerks, RFOs, councillors with a finance role, and anyone keen to understand how LGR could reshape the way we work.
Join us for a day of insight, sharing, and forward planning and leave ready to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future head-on.
