Whether through ekphrastic modes or intertextual intervention, music, art and of course through close reading, Karen McCarthy Woolf will explore what inspires us as poets and how we can transform influence into new, exciting and alert work. Open to writers at all levels.

Karen McCarthy Woolf was poet in residence at the Promise Institute for Human Rights as a postdoctoral Fulbright Scholar at UCLA, and is an RSL/Jerwood Poetry Fellow. Her books include Seasonal Disturbances (Carcanet Press, 2017),Top Doll (Dialogue Books, 2024) and the anthology Nature Matters: Vital Poems from the Global Majority (Faber, 2025) which she co-edited with Mona Arshi. Her new collection, Unsafe (Bloomsbury, 2026) is out in February and is a Poetry Book Society Choice.
