Karma and Our Day-to-Day Life

Ajahn Ahimsako, the abbot of Cittaviveka Monastery in Chithurst, will deliver this dhamma talk at London Buddhist Vihara, the institution where his journey into Buddhism began.

For Buddhists, karma is not an abstract idea, but something that shapes our daily lives. As cause and effect, karmic experiences provide the template for our existence. Life is not set in stone: at every moment we can plant the seeds of stress and difficulty or create habits of kindness and understanding.

Ajahn Ahimsako is an American-born Bhikkhu (monk) in the Thai Theravada Forest Tradition, known for his background in classical ballet before his monastic life at California's Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery. He has served as an abbot at Chithurst Buddhist Monastery since 2019 and is a respected teacher of the dhamma, giving talks and leading retreats through various organizations, including Amaravati Buddhist Monastery.
