Description

Karma Nirvana Community Champions Evening
Leeds Beckett University
7th December, 2017

British human rights charity Karma Nirvana is seeking volunteers to join their Community Champions programme to help raise awareness of Honour-Based Abuse and Forced Marriage in the UK. For 24 years the charity has provided emotional and practical support to victims, as well as best practice advice and training courses to professionals (including the Police, Social Services and the NHS).

As well as volunteers the charity is recruiting Trustees, a Secretary and a Treasurer. To learn more about these unique opportunities, and to meet Karma Nirvana’s CEO, management team and board members please join them for what promises to be an informative and thought-provoking evening.

5.45pm: Registration.
6-8pm: Presentations by founder, author and survivor Jasvinder Sanghera CBE and members of the Karma Nirvana team.

By giving your time, energy and talents as a champion or trustee, you can make a real difference to people's lives and society. Volunteering with us can give you the opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills, improve your CV and help your community.

We look forward to meeting you!
