Rally & Broad! and the SPL present:

Kate Tempest

launching her new collection, Hold Your Own, coming out with Picador.

Please note that due to high demand for tickets for this event, we have released an additional 65 tickets and the event in this club venue will be mostly standing rather than seated.  We will have some seats available, but these will initially be reserved for those who require a seat for health reasons.  If you do require a seat, please contact jennifer.williams@spl.org.uk.  We cannot generally guarantee a seat for this event.  Thank you for your patience and understanding as we do our best to accommodate the audience - we have had a huge amount of interest in ths event and hope it will be a night to remember.

Kate Tempest has come to prominence as a performance poet, rapper, novelist and playwright. For the first time, Kate has written for the page before performing the poems. The reading will be a selection of the poems she feels best reflect this new direction, told with her mesmerising and electric delivery. She is only performing the poems for the month of October before returning to her album tour and this is the only date for her reading in Scotland.

Copies of her new collection will be available to purchase on the night.

The event will begin with a performance by Sam Small.

Sam Small is the founder of Inn Deep poetry, Glasgow's most exciting night for new voices. Sam himself is undoubtedly one of the most exciting, innovative new voices on the Scottish slam and spoken word scene, rapidly gaining notice for his rapid-fire word-play and electric performances.

Presented in partnership with

Rally & Broad! An Edinburgh Cabaret of Words, Music & Lyrical Delights…
