Kate Watson-Smyth in conversation with tile designer Lindsey Lang
Date and time
Description
Discover Lindsey Lang’s new tile collection at Domus as she talks to interiors writer Kate Watson-Smyth at the launch event for Bermondsey, her capsule collection of seven patterned tiles in a pastel colour palette launching at the beginning of May.
As part of the launch, interiors writer Kate Watson-Smyth will be talking with Lindsey Lang about her inspiration, work practices, design philosophy, and how she has developed her patterns and colour palettes. Her iconic designs are used across product collections at John Lewis, Transport for London, The Design Museum, The Barbican Museum, Formica and Camira Fabrics, amongst others. The talk will start at 9.30am. Breakfast will be served from 9am.
The new collection at Domus features three terrazzo designs, two encaustic designs and two 3D cement designs, each displaying Lang’s signature mid-century style patterns on the different material formats. In a palette of soft pastel shades, the Bermondsey collection at Domus includes an exclusive colourway in the Scallop pattern using pink and cream terrazzo with grey cement.
Displaying a beautiful combination of colours and patterns, the Bermondsey collection is named after the area in London where Lang’s studio is based. Lang’s work draws inspiration from colour theories, Constructivism, Modernism, Abstract Expressionism, and geometry found in nature, combining bright colourways and textures to create beautifully balanced and timeless designs. Lang’s signature print designs translate beautifully into tiles with repeating patterns that will completely transform any space.
