Kate Wilson's 'DISCLOSURE - Unravelling the Spycops Files'
Overview
Book Launch & Conversation - DISCLOSURE - Unravelling the Spycops Files
Join us for a special launch event at The Wynnstay, Machynlleth. An evening of conversation with Kim Bryan and Kate Wilson, author of the extraordinary true story Disclosure.
In 2010, Kate and Kim discovered that their friend, fellow activist, and in the case of Kate partner, Mark Kennedy, was an undercover police officer. In September 2021, the Investigatory Powers Tribunal handed down a landmark ruling in Kate’s ten-year legal battle, identifying a “formidable list” of breaches of fundamental human rights. The operations were found to be “without lawful justification in a democratic society.”
Disclosure tells this powerful and deeply personal story of betrayal, courage, and the long fight for truth and accountability. This event will also reflect on the ongoing public inquiry into undercover policing, which is currently hearing evidence and revealing new information weekly. Hearings continue until 18 December, with more to come in February, adding fresh urgency and relevance to this conversation. The book will be available to purchase during the evening, or beforehand at Literary Cat Books.
