Kawandi Quilting Workshop with Sandra Streeter:

Join me for a creative and relaxing workshop exploring Kawandi, a traditional quilting technique from Western India. Using only a simple hand running stitch, you’ll create a colourful, textured piece while embracing the sustainable practice of reusing fabrics.

This session is perfect for both beginners and experienced makers, offering a fresh and mindful approach to quilt making that can be adapted for full-size quilts or smaller panels for bags, cushions, and other quilted creations.

What You’ll Learn

  • Choosing and placing fabrics for visual impact
  • Folding edges for a neat finish
  • Selecting threads and creating textural interest
  • Designing secondary patterns through purposeful fabric placement
  • Unpicking garments to reuse as fabric (offered as a future skill—not used in this session)

Included in Your Workshop

  • Expert tuition from me, Sandra Streeter
  • Use of an ironing station, cutting mats, scissors, and rotary cutters
  • All fabrics, you will have a bundle of fat quarters, needles, and threads provided
  • All for only £35

What to Bring

  • Your coffee, tea, and snack
  • Optional: a fabric you’d love to include in your quilt.
