Is the venue suitable for those with mobility needs, auditory or visual impairments?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the venue has a modern single level interior, is fully accessible for self propelled and electric wheelchairs. There are accessible toilets adjoining the auditorium. The venue has  good auditory and visual support systems ( induction loops, headphones, repeater screens etc).Assistance provided.

Question 2

What is the venue like for transport arrangements-parking, public transport, cycling etc?

Accepted Answer

The venue is well served by Lothian Buses- service 26 and 19 stop outside the door. The Border rail service to Tweedbank ( 30 min freq.) stops at Brunstane station and is 10 minutes walk from the venue. There is on-street parking at the venue & cycle racks on the east side of the building.

What form does the evening take?

Accepted Answer

Refreshments (BRING YOUR OWN MUG) are available on arrival where you can meet and mingle from 730pm. The speaker, Mark Agnew, will give his presentation of c 80 mins and then be happy to answer  questions. The venue allows excellent audio visual presentation but also an open and informal atmosphere.

Will tickets be available on the door?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we will sell tickets on the door, but to be completely sure of a place we would, of course, advise booking in advance. The building functions as a church with a capacity of  250.

Question 5

What measures do you have in place to ensure an environmentally sound approach to this event.

Accepted Answer

The building meets  modern standards for heating and insulation. All ( incl speaker) are encouraged to travel using public transport or cycle. We ask people to bring their own cups for refreshments to avoid unnecessary waste and all materials are sourced and dealt with responsibly.
