Event description

Description

KCL World History Conference is returning for 2018! Following two successful conferences in 2016 and 2017, the theme for this year’s conference is ‘Activism, Identity and Conflict’.

2018 marks the centenary of the end of World War One, ninety years since the success of women’s suffrage in the UK, and fifty years since the Prague Spring, among many other notable dates. Inspired by these landmarks, we wanted this year’s theme to reflect many of the key issues which resonate with historians today in an increasingly globalised and uncertain world.
We invite you to think about these themes broadly and creatively, interpreting them together and separately, from different angles and with unique insight, reflecting the diversity of world history. Ultimately, this theme is a guideline and we encourage potential contributors to submit work on a range of topics and questions.
We also encourage any student with an interest in global history to attend and enjoy a day of listening to papers given by students from across the world.

We look forward to meet you. In the mean time, please visit our website and email us if you would like any more information: kclworldhistoryconf@gmail.com. If you would like to submit a paper and present at the conference, please send us a c.500 word abstract about your topic and a CV to our email address. Good luck!
