The session is not hi-tech but contains practical content and advice for parents and professionals that will make a difference.

Presented by Simon Snell, former Detective Inspector, Child Exploitation Unit, Devon and Cornwall Police.

This course is Free! There is no cost to attend but we do ask individuals to book a ticket so that we can manage numbers.

Organiser Isle of Wight Safeguarding Children Partnership

Organiser of Keeping Children Safe Online

The Isle of Wight Safeguarding Children Partnership (IOWSCP) is established in accordance with the Children and Social Work Act 2017 (the Act) and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 statutory guidance. The IOWSCP provides the safeguarding arrangements under which the safeguarding partners and relevant agencies work together to coordinate their safeguarding services, identify and respond to the needs of children in Isle of Wight, commission and publish local child safeguarding practice reviews and provide scrutiny to ensure the effectiveness of the arrangements.

Working Together 2018 explains that the three safeguarding partners in relation to a local authority area are defined under the Children Act 2004 (as amended by the Children and Social Work Act 2017) as:

  • the Local Authority
  • a Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) for an area any part of which falls within the local authority area
  • the Chief Officer of Police for an area any part of which falls within the local authority area
