About this event
Join us for the second part of this exciting series downstream at Cody Dock, once a place to unload coal for the Bromley-by-Bow gasworks but now a vibrant community space featuring gardening spaces, artists in residence, and a unique rolling bridge!🦆 Discover how this site has served the local community throughout history, plus explore the unique tidal river habitat, where you might spot tufted ducks, migrating swifts, and other incredible wildlife 🦅
After a guided walk around the site, set your creativity free in a fun, collaborative art session! Together with Cody Dock, we'll create a unique poetry and collage artwork capturing the rich contrasts between the upstream wetlands and downstream river life, and connecting the two sites along our shared river🚣🏿♂️

Who are Cody Dock?
Cody Dock is a community-focused charity located on a historic industrial dock beside the tidal River Lea in East London. The site was formerly used as a place to unload coal for the Bromley-by-Bow gasworks but now exists as a vibrant community space featuring a café, artist studios, gallery and gardens. It serves as the perfect venue to compare life upstream with species including redshanks and harbour seals.
