Event description

Description

The Keeping Safe Talking Mats resource is a visual framework that has been developed and trialled over 3 years to support service user’s to discuss and identify how safe they feel with different aspects of their lives.

The topics are:

Your Wellbeing; Relationships and Thoughts and Feelings.

This provides:

• A listening space for people with learning disability to raise concerns

• A structure for staff to find out what people are thinking about their lives, and raise issues that can be difficult to discuss.

The training TM will initially be rolled out as a half-day session for PKC staff who have previously completed Talking Mats training. Participants will leave the training, informed, practiced and equipped with Keeping Safe symbol set, they will also be asked to feedback on how they felt it was in practice for evaluation purposes.

Please be aware we require 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel your place on this learning session.

If 48 hours’ notice is not given or if you fail to attend on the day, there may be a charge of £50 for non-attendance.

To cancel your booking, please go to www.eventbrite.co.uk.

Alternatively you can contact the Housing and Community Safety Learning and Development team on 01738 477 828 or email hcctraining@pkc.gov.uk
