Gas is an integral part of Britain’s energy structure, having on many occasions in 2016 supplied more than 50% of generation needs. Given that carbon-reduction is a key environmental goal, following on from COP21 which concluded with even stronger determination to work towards a low-carbon economy whilst ensuring energy security worldwide, the role of gas will become even more important in re-shaping Britain’s energy market.
This event, in association with ESB, will explore the issues surrounding these changes, such as achieving energy security without compromising low costs to customers, and the role of Parliament in the transition to a lower carbon-dependent market.
