Keeping Warm in Older Ayrshire Homes 7th March
Ayrshire’s traditional stone-built houses may be beautiful to look at, but they’re not so much fun to live in during the colder months. If your home was built before 1919 and you’ve not had the full range of energy efficiency measures installed, you could be facing mounting heating bills this year.
Imagine how good it would feel to wake up to a warm home every morning, knowing it wasn’t costing you the earth to heat and without compromising any of its historic features.
Home Energy Scotland offers free, impartial energy efficiency advice from simple draught-proofing to insulation for all types of homes, as well as referrals for available funding.
We’d like to invite you to a free 'Ask the Experts' event at the Waterside Hotel, West Kilbride on Tuesday 7th March.
Moses Jenkins of Historic Environment Scotland will be one of our speakers sharing expert advice on installing different types of insulation, glazing, draught-proofing and other measures in his presentations between 12-2pm and 5.30-7.30. Notepads and pens will be provided and if you arrive between 12 and 12.30 or 5 and 5.30pm you'll be welcomed with a free bowl of hot soup!
If your property is cold, damp or difficult to heat, mark March 7th on your calendar and come along for some expert funding advice plus free takeaway tips on how to keep your home cosy and save money this winter.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There's plenty of free parking at the hotel and regular buses run along the Ardrossan Road. The nearest train station is West Kilbride, which is 1.5 miles from the Waterside Hotel. Lifts can be arranged from the station with at least 2 days' notice.
What can I bring into the event?
Just yourself and your questions will be great! Bags may be checked on arrival and coats etc can be hung in the cloakroom. Notepads and pens will be provided and if you arrive between 12 and 12.30 or 5 and 5.30pm you'll be welcomed with a free bowl of hot soup.
