This interactive one day course will help you gain an understanding of both mental wellbeing and mental illness within our society. You will learn the signs and symptoms of the more common forms of mental illness and treatments most commonly used including medical and non-medical interventions.
By the end of this course you will have a useful, basic understanding of:
- Positive mental wellbeing and learn some tips on how to ‘stay well’
- Common mental health problems, their signs and symptoms and commonly used methods of intervention to improve the conditions
- The risk factors associated with mental health conditions
- How you can help people to access support services
Participants will receive a certificate of attendance and supporting handouts.
Tea and coffee is provided. Delegates are required to provide their own lunch.

FDAMH Training Academy is a social enterprise from Falkirk's Mental Health Association (FDAMH). FDAMH has over 30 years of experience working with people and families affected by the impact of mental illness. We are also experienced in training and supporting volunteers.
