Event description

Description

Kelmscott Manor was built around 1600 and is situated on the infant Thames near Lechlade. It was the Cotswold retreat of William Morris - poet, craftsman and socialist- from 1871 until his death in 1896. The house is considered to be the most evocative of all Morris's houses and contains an outstanding collection of his possessions and works. We will have coffee and biscuits on arrival and a morning tour of the manor. Lunch is not included but you can pre-order either a ploughman's lunch (£8.25) or homemade soup (£5.00).

In the afternoon there will be time to explore the pretty Cotswold village of Kelmscott and/or have a walk along the Thames towpath.

Limited to 35 places.

Please note that there is an admin fee for Eventbrite.
