Join Kenny Hunter for his talk exploring the Glasgow heritage that inspired his public sculpture in Bellahouston Park, the Elephant for Glasgow. Born in Edinburgh in 1962, Hunter studied sculpture at Glasgow School of Art between 1983 and 1987. He has exhibited extensively in Britain and abroad including solo exhibitions at Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Tramway, Glasgow. As well as the Elephant for Glasgow, Hunter has created a number of other high profile public works including; Citizen Firefighter, outside Glasgow’s Central Station and a “Place is a space remembered” sited in the Pas-de-Calais region of France. He is the current Programme Director for Sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art.
