Programme (more details coming soon)

9:30 Arrival and networking

. Denise Wilton (The Mylan Focus) about marketing strategy.

Learn about the three key elements that make up a strong marketing strategy; target audience profiling, quality content and a schedule that keeps it timebound and focused. You’ll be able to start writing and putting into practise a marketing strategy that will help build brand awareness, promote events and make sales.
Denise will explain in plain English how to identify your audiences, use information you know about them to decide where to market to them, with what messages and what marketing methods will work best for your arts business.

. Editor Christine Rayner (South East Business Magazine) about how to write a Press Release.

What do professionals in the media look for in a press release and how can you ensure your marketing message reaches the right people? Journalist Christine Rayner, who has extensive experience in the communications industry, will share some tips on getting you noticed … and remembered.

. Writing coach, Editor and author Miles Allen about How to tell your story.

Writing a short article alongside a piece of your work adds a powerful dimension to it that cannot be achieved by viewing alone, and yet so few artists do this. Miles will show you how to write to induce an emotional response that is inspiring and memorable.
He will be talking about the three key commentaries, that when combined, draw the viewer into your professional life, your current project, and expand the meaning and inspiration behind each piece, taking them that much closer to making a purchase and becoming a fan. With just a few rules, you can overcome this intimidating task.

. Lunch break (light buffet included)

. Mark Goldfinch (Drive your Marketing) ‘Why you should be leading your communications... and how'.

In his experience, creative people suffer from three main hangups when they start publicising their work.:
1. It can seem ‘uncool’ and tacky to sell yourself and your work, as it is a creative endeavour.
2. It can seem daunting to start publicising your work when, ‘There is so much out there already’; and ‘Who wants to know about me?’
3.Even if you start doing it, how do you make it consistent and longterm instead of sporadic and inconsistent?

Mark's talk addresses these three hangups with practical advice about how to Own, Plan, Action and Link your communications in order to build appreciative audiences of people more likely to connect with what you create.

. Sian Murphy (Stormchasers Digital) on how to design your website with your marketing in mind

. Denise Wilton (The Mylan Focus) about Social Media

. Practical mini workshops with some of the speakers including Miles Allen, Denise Wilton to work in more details on the subjects covered in the presentations.
