Kerma (2025 doc film) ~ screening + Q&A
Event description:
Join us for the premiere screening of debut feature doc Kerma (2025) followed by a Q&A with artist Ingrid Kerma, director Alice Trott, film composers and collaborators Philippa Godsalve and Arthur Davies-Evitt.
About the film:
A meditation on Kerma's uncompromising artistic pursuit of meaning in form, emptiness, reality, and attachment.
Artist and Chisenhale Art Place co-founder, Ingrid Kerma, shares the roots of her unfettered creative processes, philosophical influences, and experimentation that intrinsically shape her identity as an artist, mother, daughter and partner. Kerma challenges the antithetical commodification and commercialisation of her work which seeks connection not conformity. This portrait of Kerma traces queer love, fragmented motherhood, faith, and determination. Her search for the sacred and the innate within the artistic process must be challenged by the paradoxes and schisms of our contemporary world.
