FAQs
Which Jewish groups will be marching and do I have to be a member of one to join in?
To march with us in Pride in London you don't need to be a member of any of the groups that are all joining together for the Parade. You can come on your own, with your friends and on the day you'll hopefully make new friends!
Some of the groups coming together include (this list will be added to):
- Imahot v’Avot
- KeshetUK
- West London Synagogue
- Jewish LGBT+ Group (formerly JGLG),
- Laviot
- Gay Jews In London
- Beit Klal Yisrael
- Parents of Jewish Gays and Lesbians
Is there a minimum age requirement to attend Pride in London?
No. There is no minimum age to attend Pride in London. KeshetUK does not take responsibility for those attending and if you're under 18, however, you will need to be accomopanied by a responsible adult. Also please note - everyone (including children and babies) is required to register for a wristband.
Pride in London is open to everyone! And anyone who wants to create an inclusive Jewish community is welcome to march with us (subject to availability)! This year we will have a minibus for those who would like to take part but walking/standing for that long presents an accesibility issue. If you're interested in a seat in the minibus - please do register for a wrist band and email us at info@keshetuk.org.
I am planing to go to Synagogue on the Saturday?
We have been given an earlier slot than we had expected, but they have assured us we won't be leaving our space in the parade until all those we know are going to synagogue have reached us. However, half our group will already be in the parade around 12.30pm. If you are planning to go to synagogue and you have already registered for a wristband - please email info@keshetuk.org to let us know! Otherwise, we might redistribute your wristband thinking you aren't coming.
I've never been to a Pride Parade before - what should I do to prepare, what should I wear or bring along on the day?
Just bringing yourself is enough but here is a list of things to consider!
- Check the weather: You might want to prepare for a rainstorm or a heat wave! It's London in July after all - so we just never know whether it's sunglasses or umbrella weather (or both..).
- Noise makers: whistles, gregers, your voices! It's a fun day and some chants, singing and whistle always go down well!
- Snacks: We can spend some time standing around and you might get a bit hungry!
- LGBT+ flags/banners/placards: Always worth seeing if you've got rainbow (or other LGBT+) flags hidden away somewhere - perfect opportunity to fly them!
- Clothing: Wear whatever you feel most comfortable in! Whether that's jeans and a tshirt, ball gown, colourful clothing or not. Pride is about you being you and that means wearing whatever you feel best in.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No. We will have a list of names.
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
No. We have a large waiting list and so we ask that you let us know if you can't come either through Eventbrite or by emailing us.
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Please email info@keshetuk.org if you have any questions.
