Key Competencies

Course description:

This is a one day course covering the emergency management of 8 key topics from the Level 1 RCPCH Curriculum and therefore is most suitable for ST2/3s. It would work for ST1s later in their first year or if they have previous paediatric experience.

Highlights/Objectives:

• Practice the management of acute paediatric situations in a safe environment using human patient simulators.

Target audience: Ideally suited to ST1, ST2 & ST3 Grades in Paediatrics. Please note places are limited to 18.

Format: 1 day course

Venue: UHBW Simulation Centre

This course is prepaid for by the Deanery for both Peninsula and Severn Paediatric trainees. A charge of £99 will be made to those trainees outside of South West. Trainees who do not belong to either Peninsula or Severn Paediatric Deaneries and wishing to attend this course should contact UHBW Simulation Services on 0117 342 0108 or email simulationservices@uhbw.nhs.uk to enquire about availability.
