On foot walk from Vyse St, walk down Pitsford St, turn right under bridge to Key Hill gate, ( black railings): Train & Tram stop J Q Rail Station Vyse St . Bus 8a, 8c & 101 from B'ham city centre to Chamberlain clock @ Warstone Ln, walk to Vyse St, Bus 16 &74 to Grt Hampton St: Car park - Vyse St.

At the small island inside Key Hill cemetery. Icknield Street gate, almost facing Park Street S, Key Hill cemetery has black railings, neighbouring Warstone Lane cemetery, which also has an entrance in Icknield St, has red railings

Do you have facilities in the cemetery?

There are not any facilities in either Key Hill cemetery, or Warstone Lane cemetery there are several bars, restaurants, and cafés nearby. A porta loo is hired for Open Days usually held in May,July, Sept & Oct

Are the tours suitable for the less abled?

These tours are not suitable for wheelchairs or mobility scooters. Both cemeteries have uneven ground. There are several steps in both cemeteries.

Cemetery Tours, no charge for those who hold a current membership, contact the Friends for a ticket- www.fkwc.org -  There are no concessions for catacomb tours held on Open Days.

Only assisted dogs are allowed on cemetery tours. Please contact the Friends www.fkwc.org

Do cemetery tours include interior catacomb tours?

Accepted Answer

Birmingham History Tours include the history of the cemetery, & history of the catacombs. Interior catacomb tours are separate events usually held during the Friends Open days in May, July, Sept & Oct.

What is your refund policy?

The cut-off date for refunds for cemetery tours is 2 Days before the event, less the Eventbrite booking fee. There are no refunds for catacomb tours.

No, All revenue from the Friends of Key Hill & Warstone Lane tours, talks & presentations, membership, plus sales & donations are for the Friends Grave Restoration Fund, to repair damaged & broken graves.

What role do the Friends play regarding Key Hill cemetery & Warstone Lane cemetery

Friends are the only group to care for the cemeteries as well as raising funds for damaged & broken graves aiding the Friends restoration fund.   This is achieved via membership, guided cemetery tour, catacomb tours, talks & presentations, sales at open days and history fairs , plus donations etc.

Gift Vouchers for Sunday cemetery tours for two people are £32.00 plus postage UK. (£8.00 per person, per cemetery) Both attendees can take both cemetery tours the same day, or split the tours, taking the other tour at a later date. Valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Please email www.fkwc.org for a membership form. Membership to the Friends includes a periodic news letter The Mourning News, plus no charge for Sunday Walking History Tours & Evening tours ( Springtime). Does not include interior catacomb tours that are held during OPen Days.
