About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

This training session on key working and transitioning to independence for providers of supported accommodation will focus on the critical role of key workers in supporting young people towards achieving greater independence.

Participants will learn how to develop strong, supportive relationships with young people, guiding them through the process of building life skills, setting goals, and planning for a successful transition to independent living. The session will cover the importance of person-centered support, effective communication, and collaborative working with external agencies to ensure a smooth transition. Participants will also explore strategies for managing challenges that may arise during this process, such as managing risk, promoting resilience, and empowering young people to take ownership of their goals. By the end of the training, providers will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to support young people effectively through their journey to independence, ensuring they leave supported accommodation with the tools they need for success.
