Professor Marco Viceconti looks at role of technology in healthcare now and in the future. He will interrogate the uses and limits of technology in health provision, and will explore some of the ethical issues that may start to arise as technology is used more and more by the medical world.
About the speaker:
Marco Viceconti is Professor of Biomechanics at the University of Sheffield's Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Professor Associate at the Department of Human Metabolism. He is currently serving as Executive Director of the Insigneo Institute of in silico medicine, a joint initiative between the University of Sheffield and the Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
