About the speaker - Roger Griffith
“I hail from Teignmouth in South Devon, but with a Scottish mother and a Welsh father and married to a Scot's lass with three daughters. Biology research work led to a career in teaching that progressed into a role as a countryside ranger and then retirement. An interest in botanical surveying led to fieldwork that included old country estates, ruined castles, graveyards, abandoned railways, etc and all these expeditions provoked a renewed interest in local history.
I have made around 1800 YouTube videos, 16000 still photographs and 800 Wikipedia articles on the web, all free of coyright for all to use and a spell as president of Irvine Burns Club led me to establishing a Facebook based 'Researching the Life and Times of Robert Burns Club'. I am also very much involved in railway history, coin collecting and various other pursuits!”
